Some good news, and some bad.

I guess we'll go ahead and get the bad news out of the way. We regret to announce that we are pushing back the recording of Bound to Prophecy to January. We need a little more time to prepare and polish our music as much as possible. We still don't have an exact release date for the finished album, but we're shooting for the Spring of '09. Also, we're working hard to pull all the finances together for this thing and need more time. Well that's it for the bad news! Not to horrible, eh?
Lots of good news to announce today! First of all, the album art is finally complete and available to view on our myspace!!! I'm sure you'll also notice a complete myspacedesign overhaul as well! Some brand new designs to accommodate the album art as well as our new promo shots. So go check it out and tell us what you think. We hope you like it as much as we do! The website won't be completed for another week or so.
So we finally have a limited selection of merchandise available to purchase online. For just $10 you can pick up one of the original OR&R tshirts! These ones have the old logo from '05 and '06 on em. We will never sell anymore shirts like this or reprint this classic logo, so gettem while you can! And hey, all the funds are going towards the album so it's a good cause. :)
If you want to lend us a helping hand and start getting the word out there about Bound to Prophecy, you can download a layout for your myspace similar to the one we have. We need help spreading our music, and this is something quick and easy that can make a big difference. Hit us up here on myspace with your OR&R layout so we can personally say thanks! (just copy and paste the code from the "downloads" section into your myspace profile)
Only one month until the Houston show with Kamelot! You can purchase a ticket from us for $20 online, it's a bit cheaper this way. This just might be your last chance to see us perform our old set. Update

Greetings metalheads! So it's been a while since we've give ya'll a full update on what we're doing and any kind of news about our progress. Hopefully, this will suffice for now!
The summer tour has obviously been cancelled. The booking agency was having a very difficult time getting a solid route booked, and unfortunately had to bail. The few other shows we had independently booked through various production groups also had to be cancelled for one thing or another. We're very sorry to all of those people who were expecting us to be performing in their cities this summer, we would have if it were possible. Don't worry though, we'll be hitting the road sooner than later, we promise.
We've also been booking signifacantly less shows so that we have more time to focus on our album. We're constantly writing and improving the material we have, leaving less time for shows. The album, "Bound to Prophecy", is still scheduled for a 2009 release. More details on that as we get them. The artwork is still in the works, but it's going to be worth the wait! It's getting very close to completion - we're very excited to show you all!
We will be recording our album at Origin Sound studio. We'll be going in immediately following our show with Kamelot and won't be returning to the real world until it's done. Officially, that's all of November and some of December. Maybe even longer if we need to. We have high expectations for our album - we hope you're all ready!!!
Only two shows booked at the moment (like we said, we're cutting waaay down). August 9th in Sugarland and November 1st in Houston with Kamelot. These might be your last chance to see us play before we introduce our new set after the album release.
That's it for now. We hope we've atleast somewhat wetted your appetite for a taste of "Bound to Prophecy". It's going to be worth the wait, we promise.

New Member - Jonathan Gossett as our bassist!!

We are very excited to announce Jonathan Gossett (Ninth Kingdom) as our new bassist! That's right people, after over three years of bassless melodic death metal, we're finally going to have our full sound!! It's going to be crowded as hell on stage now - 6 members! Woot! So definitely come out to Paganfest (May 17th) and Dark Tranquility (June 6th) to see him kicking ass and taking names! Also, be sure to check out Gossett's other band at www.myspace.com/ninthkingdom
Also, the last bit of tour information is being confirmed.
We will be hitting up some of the larger cities here in Texas, so keep posted for updates! We will be touring with a folk metal band called Lunarium on select dates, so be sure to check them out as well!

Album & Show news!
April 12th, 2008
The upcoming album will be entitled "Bound to Prophecy" and will contain 12 tracks! We will be re-releasing the 6 older songs from our demo - completely revamped 'Of Raven & Ruins style!' We will be going into the studio sometime towards the end of the year. The album itself is scheduled for an early 2009 release. Also, the album artwork is currently underway! We'll hopefully have something tangible to show you sooner than later.
We're very excited to announce several amazing show opportunities that we have lined up at the moment. Some of this might be old news, depending on when you read this and whether or not you live under a rock. April 27th we will be performing with Between the Buried and Me (Victory Records) at The Meridian! This is our first show here, so if you're reading this and it isn't past April 27th, come on down so we can show them what Of Raven & Ruins is all about, eh!?
Second, is Paganfest! We will be performing with some of the greatest folk metal bands in the world including Ensiferum (Spinefarm Records), Turisas (Century Media Records), Tyr (Napalm Records), and Eluveitie (Nuclear Blast Records)! This show is going to be insane - definitely bring all your folk metal attire including (but not limited to) swords, axes, fur, leather, gauntlets, blood, gore, body paint, virgin sacrifices, ect. Paganfest will be May 17th at Java Jazz here in Spring, TX.
The third show is November 1st at Scout Bar in Houston. We are very excited to announce that we will be sharing the stage with the legendary power metal gurus: Kamelot (SPV/Steamhammer)! This show will certainly be a night to remember, you don't want to miss this (or any of the other previous shows mentioned for that matter)!
We should have tickets for sale for the BTBAM show as well as Kamelot. Just hit us up here or through our website if you'd like to purchase a ticket in advance.
Exciting things being thrown around about our tour situation. Nothing official yet, so I'm afraid you'll have to be in the dark about that a little while longer. We'll update this as soon as possible when information comes in.
Oh, about the album. We've had alot of people asking about it's availability and whatnot. "Bound to Prophecy" will be available worldwide through our merchstore, as well as Itunes and other such mp3 online stores. We will also be releasing a line of shirts to compliment the release of our album, which will be available worldwide as well.
2008 is going to be one hell of a year for us! We're very excited and hope everybody else is too! Keep in touch, everyone's support is appreciated more than you'll ever know.
